Required driving documents

Beside A valid South African Professional drivers license, few documents are required from you before you can start driving as one of your esteemed driver.
Below is the comprehensive list of documentation required:

Vehicle document requirements:

• Vehicle Inspection Report (inspection service available at our office).
The report must be less than 3 months old - No need for this if the car is brand new.
• Motor vehicle license disc with operator card (double disc) from the Licensing Department
• Comprehensive vehicle insurance (including R5 000 000 passenger liability)
• Operating License/ Permit from the Department of Transport

  • Why this app is so awesome?
    This is the new generation app, it looks different, it feels different, it is different. Locally developped by our local engineers. The app is here to solve our local transportation issues.
  • How much commission Tag Your Ride charge?
    The First week is for FREE for new drivers using the Tag Your Ride App. After the first week, Tag Your Ride will start charging only 15% commission.
  • Is it safe to drive with Tag Your Ride?
    All our drivers are monitored 24 hours a day by our agents, when riding with a passenger you will have SOS option to call for assistance in case of Emergencies. You can also call our call centre at anytime for any emergency matter.
  • Can I cancel a ride?
    We donot wish for any of our driver or customer to cancel a ride, but if you cannot meet the rider for any reason or if you cannot end a trip you can CANCEL the ride via the app.
  • What happens when a rider forgot an item in my car?
    If you notice an item left behind, please let us know by sharing details and/or a photo of the item. We'll help you connect with the rider so that the two of you can arrange a mutually convenient time and place for a return. In the next 48 hours, the rider may reach out to you directly to recover the lost item. In the meantime, please keep the item safe. In the future, it's helpful to remind riders to take all their belongings as they exit your vehicle.
  • What if I forgot to end or begin my trip on time?
    If you feel that this trip's start or end time is incorrect, please let us know the correct pickup location and destination addresses. We'll review and make adjustments as needed.
  • How can I be sure I'm picking up the correct rider?
    To make sure you pick up the right person every time, we recommend confirming your rider's name before starting a ride. Your app displays the rider's name and photo once you have accepted their request, and the rider can see your name, photo, car type, and license plate number.
  • Can I accept cash tips?
    Tag Your Ride does not accommodate tips from riders, when you arrive at a rider's destination and end the ride, the fare is automatically charged to the rider's account. Tips are not included in ride fares. Any cash gratuity offered by a rider is voluntary. If a rider wishes to tip you, please feel free to accept.
